A majority of Pie's future premium is expected to come from distribution partners such as payroll companies, wholesale agents, and retail agents. As an extension of Pie, these distribution partners must operate with a customer-first mentality and share Pie's goal for disciplined profitable underwriting.
This role's responsibility is to manage the relationship with an assigned National Strategic Partner(s). You will work as an advocate for your Partners in collaboration with internal Pie team members to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes for both Pie and Partner. You will drive additional opportunities through engagement and discovery methods.
How You'll Do It
The Right Stuff
Base compensation for position: $100,000
This is an incentive pay based position and as such, there is no guaranteed commission amount. The OTE is approximately $130,000, and is based on successfully meeting standard metrics and key productivity indicators.

Unless otherwise specified, this role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States* (*territories excluded), and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.

How You'll Do It
- Strategic Planning
- Use data and analytics to ensure efforts are appropriately targeted.
- Create strategic plans to optimize engagement with current Agents.
- Create a climate to ensure excellence in trust and relationship with Partner(s).
- Drive Growth
- Drive opportunity through a variety of effective incentive tools.
- Meet/exceed growth targets through uncovering additional sales opportunities within client relationships.
- Create strategies to turn around underperforming agents.
- Identify opportunities for Partner experience improvements.
- Build & Maintain Collaborative and Effective Relationship with Payroll Partner
- Identify reporting needs to communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
- Drive efficiencies ensuring Pie meets SLAs- and Help to identify and overcome challenges that impede stated SLAs.
- Travel to Partner sites.
- Work closely with the internal Payroll Team to ensure mutual expectations are met.
- Ensure engagement of Partner(s) through tracking measures, training, and incentives.
- Use Saleforce.com to track all distribution partner communication, action items, revenue potential, etc.
- Meet or exceed relationship performance goals.
The Right Stuff
- A High School diploma is required for this position, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 6+ years of overall experience is required, with a combination of 3+ years of experience in Account Management and 2+ years of insurance experience is required.
- 2+ years of experience in Strategic Partnerships required.
- Advanced communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, to deliver complex information effectively and align people with the needs of the project/team.
- Advanced problem solving skills, to be able to manage complex situations with multiple layers, and resolve to solution anticipating needs now and into the future.
- Intermediate awareness of your own tasks, and how it impacts the team and deliverables.
- Ability to train Payroll agents and increase their knowledge and awareness.
- Ability to navigate Salesforce and enter multiple forms of information with accuracy.
- Comfortable taking multiple sets of data and information, and then processing it to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Advanced presentation skills both in person and through virtual platforms like Zoom.
