General Summary:
This is the first level in a three-level career path. This position is primarily responsible for providing basic reporting systems (automated and manual), processes, testing and project support for small to medium sized initiatives in the functional area. The role is also responsible for the analysis of lost time data to produce basic reporting and analysis packages that help National Client Group (NCG) customers gain insight into their disability and absence experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the effort to identify, research, and resolve client data analysis and reporting problems.
- Performs basic troubleshooting of reporting problems to determine root cause and proposes potential solutions.
- Has basic knowledge on how to monitor reporting systems & processes.
- Identifies and documents reporting change requests.
- Represents functional area on small to medium size projects to effectively communicate business needs.
- Assists in development and/or maintenance of training/help documentation, as well as documentation for existing processes.
- Builds knowledge on how to assess technical/process impact of making simple business changes.
- Executes testing for small to medium size initiatives for the functional area, including tracking and documenting testing results.
- Understands appropriate guidelines to achieve testing signoff.
- Performs basic situational business analysis/problem solving and/or implementation support for small to medium sized projects.
- Partners effectively with team members of the functional area as well as cross-functionally by building relationships with other functional areas and IT.
- Effectively articulates ideas and concepts through verbal and/or written communication.
- Looks for ways to improve existing simple processes the functional area owns/supports.
- Functions as a member of the business team and provides input into the strategic approach to the development of lost time reporting packages for NCG clients.
- Serves as a resource for extracting, maintaining, and storing basic Level 1 and Level 2 Health & Productivity (H&P) reporting packages.
- Implements tools and develops techniques (technical solutions) for measuring and reporting metrics for assigned areas; supports team in developing and running weekly, monthly and annual reports.
- Contributes to support for databases of performance metrics.
- Supports the development of business trend analysis and monitoring for key operating metrics.
- Provide support for operational and ad hoc client data analysis as well as customized reports for specific audiences.
- May work on larger initiatives in collaboration with senior team members
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years in reporting & analytics or other related area
- Solid business knowledge of the systems & processes the functional unit owns or supports
- Solid knowledge of the customers the functional area supports and the processes they follow
- Working knowledge of both project management and systems development methodology
- PC/Mainframe/applications experience, including BAS, NaviLink, and FINEOS
- Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Solid negotiation skills
- Solid planning, organization, and time management skills
- Has personal initiative to set goals and tasks and follow through on them.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$44,100.00-$77,100.00
