Who You'll Work With;

The Institutional Client Reporting Team is responsible for the production of monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc accounting and investment reports for institutional clients. These reports cover the full range of the firm's investment capabilities, including Fixed Income, Equity, Index / Enhanced, as well as Alternative Investments, Blend, Multi-Asset strategies, with an expanding range of derivative content.

There are extensive interactions and exposure to many functions of the AB business, notably Client Relationship Management, the Portfolio Management Team, Global Product Development team along with Operations and Information Technology. In addition to the production support, the team also works on projects related to new report development and automation.

What You'll Do:

The Client Reporting Business Analyst is a key role for our firm servicing the reporting needs of institutional clients. A large focus of responsibility is managing the report automation project leveraging the Vermilion reporting tool and JIRA. In supporting this mandate, the business analyst is also responsible for analyzing data requirements and maintaining data integrity between reporting platforms. The Client Reporting Business Analyst will be heavily involved in the automation of ESG reporting, project management and prioritization.

The Client Reporting Business Analyst supports mostly the institutional business but does offer some support to the retail and private client businesses. This is done through creating and delivering client reports, while also supporting internal functions in portfolio management, client relations and fund administration.

The Business Analyst's key job responsibilities will be devoted to customized reporting automation and development, where they will be involved in the following activities:

  • Gathering and communicating requirements to report developers.
  • Prioritizing, tracking and reviewing custom reports through all phases of development.
  • Data analysis and quality control in regards to new custom reports as well as enhancements.
  • Coordinating and executing custom reporting user acceptance testing.
  • Assisting with custom reporting ad-hoc data requests and issue resolution.
  • Supporting other internal business users of Vermilion.
  • Updating process documents.
  • Building out workflows schedules for the scope of deliverables.
  • Contributing to vendor application version upgrades.

This is an opportunity to join and support a business unit that has direct client impact which is looking to implement new technology (Vermilion Reporting software) to become more efficient while mitigating risk as business demands continue to grow. The strategic plan for the reporting group includes developing top-quality ESG report offerings, centralizing data for accessibility, and streamlining processes across applications.

What We're Looking For:

  • 4 year undergraduate degree preferably in business related discipline
  • 2 years of work experience in a function that has some related financial analysis
  • Prefer some experience in data management areas
  • Previous internships working in financial services
  • Knowledge of multiple asset classes and instruments and how they can be used in portfolios
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel tools and functions
  • Communicate effectively, work well in a team setting, and be able to effectively handle changes with a positive outlook
  • Strong problem solving, attention to detail, prioritizing and multi-tasking
  • SQL preferred, but not required
  • Experience with JIRA and Vermilion a plus
