Clin Informatics Specialist
Job Description
Assists in the development and support of clinical applications, solutions, and business processes to meet the operational and clinical application needs of the organization. Serves as a liaison between clinical operations, information services, and system users regarding clinical applications. Ensures effective systems operations by providing end user support and advanced clinical application training and communications. Evaluates, redesigns, and standardizes workflows and processes to achieve department/site/organization goals and clinical success measures.
Provides end user support to include troubleshooting application issues, providing issue resolution when able, and escalating more complex issues to supervisor and/or information systems as appropriate. Serves as a liaison between clinical operations and providers, information services, and system users regarding clinical applications. Facilitates clinical practice processes which result in successful software transitions, system utilization and assessments of integrated peripheral hardware functionality.
Proactively monitors/evaluates the effectiveness of all clinical applications and processes. Consults with leadership, physicians/clinicians, and caregivers to identify and implement industry best practices, quality, service and efficiency initiatives related to clinical applications, operations, and functions. Collaborates directly with clinic physicians, patient care leaders and caregivers to identify opportunities for clinical application product development, optimization and technical improvements/changes that foster streamlined and integrated workflows.
Delivers physician and advanced user training on system capabilities/functionalities. Evaluates training effectiveness, maintains training curriculum and recommends changes to training curriculum as needed. Assists in developing, evaluating and implementing clinical process and Electronic Health Record (EHR) optimization, smaller or moderately complex projects, and timelines. Proactively searches for potential clinical application/clinical process improvements, and recommends changes. Performs data analysis to support data requirements and initiatives.

Degrees
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Nursing, or
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Occupational Therapy, or
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Physical Therapy, or
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Speech Pathology, or
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Health Care Administration or related field.
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 3 years of experience in clinical information systems applications and/or clinical workflows and process, with related clinical experience in the function/area supported, that includes end user experience with similar clinical applications. Ability to function as the interface between clinicians and other technical experts, analyzing business and clinical processes, and providing user advanced training/education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated analytical skills necessary to make sound recommendations based on data analysis, and clinical user needs, assuring maximum productivity and continuous process improvement. Knowledge of clinical applications software and supporting network software.Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) or similar products and experience with large scale automated systems. Ability to prepare and manipulate information in spreadsheets and databases.Demonstrated experience and success working with clinical and technical customers, peers, and management and experience building relationships with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians. Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to partner with customers and guide them through challenging projects.Demonstrated strength in presenting to groups. Experience training staff and providers on system uses and functionalities.Ability to handle multiple tasks, set appropriate priorities and accomplish assignments in a thorough and timely manner.
