What You'll Do
Flatiron Health has established a Clinical Research Business Unit that is focused on the application of innovative clinical trials technology and operational approaches to advance prospective evidence generation. As a member of the Research Oncology team that supports our Clinical Research business unit, you will provide clinical and scientific leadership to our multifunctional teams that are building transformational digital tools to streamline clinical trials operations, inform study design, help oncology teams identify patients for research studies, and make clinical trials more widely available wherever patients receive their care. The Research Oncology team works to ensure research quality and relevance, and provides a patient-focused lens to development of new digital products that re-envision the clinical trial landscape. You will be responsible for ensuring that we are building clinically accurate and scientifically compelling research solutions. This includes:
You'll work closely with our Research Oncology, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Data, Clinical Operations, Product, Quantitative Sciences, and Engineering teams.

Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $240,000.00
Preferred Primary Location: NYC Headquarters
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

The Research Oncology team works to ensure research quality and relevance, and provides a patient-focused lens to development of new digital products that re-envision the clinical trial landscape. You will be responsible for ensuring that we are building clinically accurate and scientifically compelling research solutions. This includes:
- In close collaboration with Medical Directors, leading clinical oversight of prospective technology-enabled clinical trials:
- Study startup: Using clinical expertise to design pragmatic trials; authoring and/or contributing to study documents such as protocols, informed consent forms, statistical analysis plans, standard operating procedures, medical monitoring plans, and data review plans; collaborating with Clinical Data and Product teams to develop data dictionaries and overall data approach using Flatiron's digital clinical research tools
- Study conduct: Performing clinical / medical data review, including safety monitoring and activities, medical coding, protocol deviations, etc.
- Study closeout: Contributing to manuscript planning and execution in collaboration with external sponsors
- Serving as the clinical lead on Flatiron's Electronic Data Capture product team and providing input into product features and strategy
- Providing clinical and scientific leadership to internal and external teams developing novel approaches to running clinical research studies
- Representing Flatiron at meetings with sponsors and clinical investigators, and participating in speaking engagements and national committees as a thought leader in clinical research
- Contributing to the Clinical Research Business Unit's strategic development
You'll work closely with our Research Oncology, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Data, Clinical Operations, Product, Quantitative Sciences, and Engineering teams.

You thrive in a fast-paced, multifunctional, team-based work environment at the leading edge of technology and medicine. In addition, you have the following experience:
- You have an advanced degree in healthcare / life sciences (PharmD, PhD, MSc, NP, PA)
- At least 5+ years of clinical trials experience as a clinical scientist in the pharmaceutical industry or CRO
- Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory and compliance requirements governing clinical trials and experience in development of clinical strategy and the design of study protocols
- You have familiarity with clinical research data models
- You are comfortable thinking about healthcare technology and the clinical trial end user, and enjoy thinking through research pain points with a product development lens
- You have the ability to quickly learn the clinical practice landscape for various therapeutic areas and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- You have empathy for the challenges that oncologists and research staff face in the pursuit of clinical research
- You have outstanding communication and presentation skills
- You are effective at driving collaboration, achieving results, influencing, and resolving conflicts across internal and external project teams
- You can easily explain scientific and clinical concepts to a non-medical, highly sophisticated audience, and have a willingness to teach and learn
- You are self-motivated, autonomous, and are able to prioritize

- You have experience in an oncology clinical setting
