How you’ll do it:
As the Closing Specialist I, your responsibilities begin when the loan processor requests the closing disclosure to be issued and ends when the loan has passed any/all auditing processes. In addition to ensuring the borrower has a successful loan closing, you are responsible for all communication with the title/escrow company, the loan processor, underwriter, and other applicable parties involved in the loan transaction, while adhering to company policies and procedures, all federal laws, and state regulations. Some overtime may be necessary but not historically needed. Manage assigned pipeline of closing orders to complete the title commitment and clearance process assuring an efficient process is executed and closings are completed in a timely manner.
- Gathering title/escrow fees and other 3rd party service fees to create an accurate Closing Disclosure; provide CD to borrower, track receipt.
- Identifying errors on Closing Protection Letters and Title Reports.
- Generating closing docs and review entire signed closing package.
- Administering QM, high cost, HPML and other checks; identify fails and escalate as a stopping point.
- Completing all closing tasks by correctly use all checklist and tools provided by manager.
- Teamwork - Working with title/escrow and loan processor to ensure all funding conditions are cleared prior to authorizing disbursement.
- Ensuring all lender fee checks are hand delivered to accounting on the same day received.
- Communicating with peers, processors, underwriters, title/escrow agents in a timely manner.
- Identifying red flags as a stopping point and reviews with CS II or Manager.
- Assisting with other duties as necessary.
What you’ll need to join Cascade:
- 2+ years’ experience in a mortgage loan environment, preferably front end residential mortgage loansÂ
- Technologically savvy and able to learn new systems quickly
- Experienced MS Excel and Outlook user
- Encompass, Data Trac, and ConformX experience a plus
