Cloud and Virtualization Engineer

GCyber is hiring a Cloud and Virtualization Engineer to support the sustainment of DISA’s Secure Web Services (SWS) environment, specifically operating and maintaining the current hybrid environment and supporting the transition to AWS.
Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, this position will be located full time onsite at Customer location in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities include:

• Serving as a critical member of the Network Operations Center (NOC) Team ensuring the reliability and performance of SWS services and virtualization environment
•  Installing, configuring, and integrating servers and hardware
• Provide system administration for Horizon View7.X VMWare vSphere and Horizon View.
• Build and maintain highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment 
• Provide troubleshooting support for virtual machine VDI errors. 
• Support the deployment, operations, and management of workloads deployed on AWS to include implementing security controls and managing compliance requirements
• Provide monitoring and administration of existing virtualization environment to ensure capacity, availability, and performance of DISA’s critical systems and applications
• Support hybrid infrastructure environment including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting
• Provide virtualization support to resolve SWS service incidents and problems
• Participate in root cause analysis for priority level 1 and 2 issues that involve SWS services

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience, additional years of relevant experience accepted in lieu of a degree
• 3+ years of system administration and/or engineering experience in virtualized environments
• Hands on experience managing VMware virtualization infrastructures
• Familiarity with AWS Virtual Private Clouds, Elastic Block Storage, and AWS Cloud Formation preferred
• Must have an active Top Secret (TS) Clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph
• DoD 8570 IAT II Certification or higher (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP) https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications
