Job Description

Precise is looking for a senior level Cloud Application Architect to join our team. The architect will provide overall technical leadership in one of our customer programs to modernize their data center technologies and migrate their infrastructure and applications to the cloud. They will be responsible for conducting market research, providing solution architecture, implementing proofs-of-concept on innovative cloud technologies, and designing engineering solutions to improve our customer’s application and AI/ML capabilities and operations. The architect will also play a key role in assisting our customer to migrate applications and COTS products to the Cloud. This is an excellent professional opportunity to partner with other thought leaders at an award-winning company and make a real impact in the federal workspace.

This position will remote and may be onsite in the Great D.C./Baltimore area occasionally as needed. Qualified candidates must have or can attain a Public Trust clearance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for overall program technology implementations.
  • Lead the design of multi-discipline system solution architecture that meets business and technical requirements. Set up program technical standards, guidelines and reference implementation.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance for project teams and team members.
  • Engage the client as a trusted advisor.
  • Conduct market research, evaluate technologies and vendor products, make recommendations that fit the needs of the customer in a cost-effective manner.
  • Lead the implementation Proof-Of-Concept (POC) on key technologies.
  • Produce system design artifacts and required technical documents following customer’s SDLC process.
  • Represent the program, present the solution architecture and technical implementation to broader customer business and IT community. Participate in cross-program IT governance committee.
  • Work closely with the CTO and other technical leadership team member to drive innovation and new capabilities within Precise.
  • Conduct market research and evaluate latest application architecture and AI/ML technologies, including LLM, application architecture, Software Implementations, containerization, disaster recovery, etc.
  • Implement Proof-Of-Concept (POC) on key infrastructure technologies.
  • Design application architecture and technical implementation plan.
  • Support and advise on application assessment, migration, and modernization.
  • Evaluate cloud vendor offerings. Implement cloud pilots. Participate in cloud implementation design and migration planning.
  • Assist in producing documentation and other deliverables that meet customer requirements.
  • Participate in other cross-function design and development activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Senior level subject matter expertise with Cloud technologies such as Well Architected Framework, Fargate, AI/ML Cloud Services
  • Deep understanding and working experience in application architecture, cloud design
  • Proven track record of enterprise level architecture, design, and implementation of technical solutions for efficient and effective delivery and management of applications and data
  • Good understanding and working experience in cloud technologies from one or more leading cloud vendors
  • Good understanding and working experience in supporting Business Continuity and Recovery
  • Expertise in developing AI/ML solutions and Machine Learning as a Service
  • Knowledge of application and database servers
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS, GCP and Azure cloud technologies and services in commercial and GovCloud environments
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills
  • Hold a current/active AWS Certified Solution Architect or equivalent certification
