Cloud Architect (GCP Application Modernization)

Location
Our Cloud Architect (GCP/AppMod) will be an integral part of our Customer Reliability Engineering team in North America. This role is based remotely in North America and can sit in any NA timezone.

The Opportunity
We are a team of cloud professionals who love working with other people to solve challenging technical problems. We work hands-on, side-by-side with our customers to educate, mentor, advise, and solve problems to make sure they are getting the most out of what the cloud has to offer.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to design, implement and troubleshoot scalable and secure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using AppMod technologies, such as Google App Engine, Google Cloud Functions, and Google Cloud Run and Google Kubernetes Engine
• Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and provide technical guidance and best practices for building and deploying GCP-based applications
• Collaborate with clients technical teams, including software engineers, cloud operations, project managers, and business stakeholders, to help them deliver their projects successfully on time and within budget
• Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP technologies and provide thought leadership on how to leverage them to benefit clients
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GCP-based applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on building and deploying applications on GCP
• In-depth knowledge of AppMod technologies, including Google Kubernetes Engine, Google App Engine, Google Cloud Functions, and Google Cloud Run
• Experience with other GCP services, such as Google Networking(VPC/LBs), Google Cloud Storage, Google IAM, and Google BigQuery
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Bonus Points

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment
• Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification
• CKA / CKAD / CKS Certifications an advantage
• Familiarity with other cloud platforms, such as AWS or/and Azure
