Job Description As a member of the CCB Home Lending Architecture team, you will support the work of the Originations product working closely with the Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Designers. This strategic role works to create and deliver upon the technology vision across the Chase Home Lending landscape. In addition to being highly technical, the ability to collaborate, influence, and build consensus across diverse teams are critical skills for this role. The ideal candidate will be an independent thinker that can demonstrate a high degree of ownership and the ability to identify issues and opportunities in a dynamic environment.
This role will develop, maintain and socialize the Technology Strategy of Home Lending focusing on the Home Lending Originations product. Additionally, this role will support our public cloud journey by helping development teams identify strategies to deploy their workloads in our hybrid-cloud environment. By partnering with product teams and others, this architect will create solutions that solve business problems in a modern, secure, and resilient way aligning to CCB and Firmwide architectural patterns and industry best practices. To accomplish this, the ideal candidate must have proficiency with the following:
- Cloud computing concepts such as IaaS, PaaS, and CaaS
- Public cloud providers and services (AWS, Google, and/or Azure.) Ideally with a solutions architecture certification.
- Ability to design solutions using serverless architectures, Function as a Service, and other cloud-native design patterns.
- Cloud orchestration/configuration services such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
- Deploying applications in public or private PaaS platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Docker, AWS EC2, etc
- Designing and/or delivering distributed, fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud databases and related concepts (e.g. eventual consistency, sharding, etc.)
- Microservice architectures
- API Management platforms like IBM API Connect or APIGEE
- Event driven architecture and common event patterns
- Rules Engines and Workflow systems
- Service definition and consumption patterns for REST-based APIs
- Designing solutions that support non-functional requirements such as availability, extensibility, and resiliency
You will prepare technical architecture deliverables in accordance with CCB architecture standards to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels. Examples of such deliverables include:
- Domain Driven Design artifacts such as context maps, domain models, aggregates, and state diagrams
- System context diagrams
- Evaluation of new initiatives and business opportunities
- Conceptual designs
- Reference Architectures
- JIRA epic and story review and/or elaboration
This role requires a wide variety of experience, strengths and capabilities, including:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
- 5 - 10 years in Information Technology software development and delivery - ideally with demonstrated, increasing responsibilities
- 3 - 5 years as Senior/Lead Application Developer or Application Architect with proven record of driving adoption of solutions and platforms into production
- Knowledge of major public cloud platforms, ideally with current solutions architecture certification in at least one (preferably AWS).
- Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 5 years using architecture methodologies, standards and tools (TOGAF, domain driven design, UML, etc.)
- Ability to work independently across multiple initiatives simultaneously
