Job Description

THE ROLE – Cloud Onboarding Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with a strong Network Technology (NT) background to support telecommunications vendors and providers in onboarding NT applications (voice, messaging, data) onto private cloud infrastructure. You’ll apply your expertise in cloud and network technologies to automate and optimize NT deployments at scale. Working in a multicultural, international team, you’ll ensure efficient, secure, and reliable onboarding of NT services. Ideal candidates will have solid experience in DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, and NT systems, along with strong collaboration skills for global projects.

Responsibilities:

•Technical Onboarding and Support: Lead the onboarding of telecommunications applications and services (voice, messaging, data) onto private cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance at scale.

•Cloud Infrastructure and Deployment Management: Oversee the deployment and management of NT applications on cloud infrastructure (IaaS and CaaS), utilizing expertise in Kubernetes, Linux, and DevOps/SRE methodologies.

•Network Configuration and Optimization: Configure and manage both underlay and overlay networking for NT applications, applying knowledge of network virtualization and protocols (e.g., BGP, SR-IOV) to support high-demand workloads.

•Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts (Python, Shell, Ansible) to automate repetitive tasks, optimize deployments, and improve operational efficiency.

•Incident and Problem Management: Manage IT operations processes including incident, problem, and crisis management, ensuring rapid issue resolution and minimizing downtime.

•Collaboration in Multicultural Teams: Work closely with global teams across technical domains to deliver reliable, scalable solutions, and ensure alignment on cloud deployment best practices.

•Improvement and Documentation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of deployment processes, maintain technical documentation, and support CI/CD pipeline development as needed.

Qualifications

•Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, or telecommunications environments.

•Cloud Knowledge: Some experience working with private cloud platforms with a basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, application deployment, and container orchestration using Kubernetes.

•Linux: Working knowledge of Linux operating systems, including basic system administration tasks such as troubleshooting, file management, and permissions.

•DevOps and SRE Concepts: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like GIT, as well as an understanding of incident and configuration management processes. Some experience with automation is a plus but not required.

•Networking: Foundational knowledge of networking concepts, such as IP addressing, DNS, firewalls, and routing. Awareness of protocols like BGP and general network virtualization concepts is beneficial.

•Scripting Skills: Experience with scripting in languages like Python or Shell for automation tasks. An eagerness to learn more advanced scripting and automation tools like Ansible.

•Optional skills:

- Golang

- OpenStack power user including HEAT & Terraform

- Netbox inventory management

- Design and implementation of CICD pipelines

You must have:

• studied a technical university degree such as: Telecommunications Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field to qualify for this job. 
• excellent English language skills
• at least 3-5 years of experience in the industry.

Software Development skills with:

• Python
• Shell scripts
• Ansible

Experience with Network Technologies:

Experience with the telecommunications applications and services from the major vendors in this space, that are being onboarded into the cloud environment (IaaS and CaaS) will be a significant advantage in this role.

Especially in the network related areas of overlay network configurations and network virtualization, where certain protocols and methods are commonly implemented for large data plane workloads – e.g. BGP, SR-IOV, etc.… Having a certification like CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) CompTIA Network+; Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) or something similar would cover most of this knowledge.
