The Cloud Automation manager will report to the director of cloud center of excellence, lead a team of 3 developers focused on automating ADI's cloud deployment, operations and management. Responsibilities include:
- Working with key stakeholders, customers and IT leaders to define the strategy and roadmap for your team.
- Understand development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and apply them effectively to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software, yielding optimal team productivity and innovation potential
- Own the day-to-day management of software development
- Implement DevOps and CI/CD best practices for code development. Bring those principles and standards to the broader IT teams.
- Manage the careers of your team, guiding and mentoring them to help them develop into the next generation of leaders. Help them grow by encouraging them to contribute to technical discussions, supporting their ideas, and empowering them to make decisions
- Deep dive into technical details and transform raw thoughts into clear direction
- Manage teams work schedule. Protect your team from being over-committed. Stay connected and resolve blockers that could derail development schedules
- Proactively communicate priorities, development status, and team challenges to stakeholders and management
- Be liasion between IT and business software engineering community, ensuring tools and methodologies meet the broader needs of software engineering community.
Required Skills
- Experience leading teams to invent, improve, evolve and/or deprecate software, drives resolution of architectural deficiencies, and finds a path forward in difficult situations
- Demonstrated experience in the establishment and streamlining of development practices to ensure the highest quality of software and operational excellence. Includes implementing DevOps practices and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical understanding of industry technologies, engineering best practices, and software design approaches
- Experience influencing the adoption and maturation of software development lifecycle methodologies to improve software quality
- Software engineering background, experience with Python or C++ or JAVA.
- Experience implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation or Azure resource Manager.
- Proven technical team leadership skills.
- Strong Collaboration and communication skills.
- Knowledge of cloud technology and containers such as docker or Kubernetes preferred.
- Be very technical in nature, hands on in the code when needed.
