Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer

We are looking for a Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer who is interested in shaping the future of Aera Technology's Cloud Operations spend management. You will work closely with infrastructure and finance stakeholders to forecast and provide impactful analysis, insights, and recommendations. This position will report to the VP of Cloud Infrastructure and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements in the efficiency of spending in Aera’s multi-cloud environment 
• Proactively collaborate with business teams, including our cloud infrastructure and finance teams, to ensure efficient and effective cloud cost utilization
• Apply a data driven approach to alerting and automated reporting in order to create awareness of opportunities for cloud cost improvements 
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure cost improvements are working
• Identify and raise technical, business, and operational risks and opportunities
• Demonstrate critical thinking and growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems
• Demonstrate collaborative, team-focused approach
• Enable team members through training and documentation
• Balance and prioritize multiple projects and remain calm under pressure

About You

• Expertise in cloud infrastructure, cost reporting, and cost optimization at scale in AWS, Azure and GCP
• Work independently and as part of a team on multiple concurrent projects
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong desire to work with new and upcoming technologies
• Experience with scripting and automation of cost and billing reports for at least one public cloud, highly desired
• Expertise with tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management and GCP Cloud Billing Reports
• A high performer who is an expert at their craft, constantly challenging the status quo
