Cloud Data Architect - GCP BigQuery Specialist

Our Senior Cloud Data Architect will be an integral part of our Cloud Reliability Engineering team in North America.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Cloud Data Architect, you will be part of our global CRE  team, working with rapidly growing companies in North America and around the world. This role offers you the chance to:

• Apply your hands-on experience & skills in a consultative manner to address our customers’ strategic and tactical needs around cloud technologies
• Grow your technical and interpersonal skills by addressing customer challenges in your daily work and leveraging dedicated time allocated by the company for learning new technologies and engaging in internal initiatives
• Strengthen your personal brand through thought leadership activities such as blogging, public speaking, and participation in technology events

Qualifications

• Significant experience in designing, developing, and troubleshooting large production-grade data systems on Google Cloud Platform and being able to select the appropriate tools to solve business problems.
• Strong proficiency in writing SQL and BigQuery SQL tuning.
• Expert-level knowledge of  BigQuery and be able to optimize usage of it.
• Proven track record in architecting performant and highly-scalable data systems.
• Understanding and experience implementing various architectural patterns in creation of data warehouse or data lake architectures.

Bonus Points 

• Experience in designing and implementing data solutions on Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, or other data warehouse solutions is a plus.
• Experience integrating BigQuery and Looker or other BI visualization tools is a plus. 
• Experience with ETL tools such as Apache Beam, Apache Airflow, SSIS, or others is a plus.
• Experience in writing software in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Go is a plus.
