Equifax is looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to provide both on-prem and cloud based database administration and support. You will provide level 3 support for on-prem databases. You will also be actively involved in operationalizing multi cloud data platforms (AWS/GCP). You will play a critical role in decisions and supporting what new cloud products are to be consumed internally. You will proactively review ever changing or evolving cloud features, incorporating those features internally thru scripting or documentation which will be made available throughout the business units and teams you support.

Equifax is looking for a Cloud Data Engineer to provide both on-prem and cloud based database administration and support. You will provide level 3 support for on-prem databases. You will also be actively involved in operationalizing multi cloud data platforms (AWS/GCP). You will play a critical role in decisions and supporting what new cloud products are to be consumed internally. You will proactively review ever changing or evolving cloud features, incorporating those features internally thru scripting or documentation which will be made available throughout the business units and teams you support.
What you'll do
- Execute and translate into operational excellence the database architecture roadmaps and specific plans to implement them
- Database version upgrades
- Patch testing and deployment
- Proactive database capacity planning
- Usage of new database features
- Monitor performance and scalability goals along with high availability and disaster recovery goals
- Data security and protection
- Functionality, stress, and load testing
- Compliance initiatives (SOX, PCI, etc.)
- Participate in production on-call rotation (one week at a time of 7x24 on-call support for production environments)
- Execute major database migrations as well as application migrations, with minimal system downtime
- Ensure database standards are followed and implemented
- Database health monitoring
- Maintain Technical Documentation
- Proactively monitor production database systems, analyze findings, formulate and implement recommendations
What experience you need
- BS or Associate's Degree/Technical Certification or equivalent job experience required
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a SQL Server and/or Oracle production and development DBA in a 24*7 environment
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with Cloud technologies (should include knowledge of GCP and AWS cloud Database solutions).
- Minimum of 5 years of scripting experience
What could set you apart
- Is familiar with the utilization of source code repository (GitHub).
- Experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Python, Chef)
- Hands-on experience using Google Cloud Analytical Services
- Experience in designing and building production data pipelines from data ingestion to consumption within a hybrid big data architecture
- Knowledge of the configuration of monitoring solutions and the creation of dashboards
- Experience with maintaining a very large database in a high volume, on-line transaction processing environment.
- Can execute and translate into operational excellence the database architecture roadmaps and specific plans to implement them.
- Implements and manages High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
- Experience working closely with auditors and related compliance initiatives (SOX, PCI, etc.).
