Cloud Developer, Connected Tools Engineering

Job Description:

Summary:

Connected Tools Cloud Developers define the architecture, design, implement & test cloud computing services & analyses which create value & solve complex data issues for Allison Transmission's connected tools internal & external customers. The scope of connected tools spans telematics hardware, wireless communication, cloud computing and website/dashboard design. Cloud Developers implement cloud architectures & services which provide features to customers while managing data storage & cost.

Responsibilities:

• Build out a set of cloud services & architecture that accomplishes the project goals in the Allison digital & connected engineering products
• Develops & deploys secure, validated software into the cloud
• Collaborates on projects in small, cross functional teams
• Supports conversion of R&D projects into internal & external production services
• Works directly with users of software & services to understand needs & issues

Required Education:

• BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science

Preferred Knowledge:

• 5-10 years of experience in cloud development
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Cloud development (Kubernetes, Azure)
• Web development (Python/Django and Typescript/React)
• Experience developing cloud solutions for embedded / IoT devices
• CAN, automotive applications
