Blackstone's DevOps team is responsible for providing runtime and automation solutions that help hundreds of developers run workloads in the public cloud. Blackstone DevOps is a software engineering team that builds and manages pipelines and orchestration platforms necessary to drive the firm's innovation.

The position involves design, implementation, enhancement and support of our CI/CD frameworks, container solutions, runtime environments, and supporting public cloud infrastructure. As an engineer on the team, you will work closely with platform engineers, security experts, software developers, and business owners across the firm to enable their applications in the cloud, provide self-service tooling, modernize deployments, and promote best practices.

Key responsibilities: • Leverage infrastructure-as-code frameworks to provision and maintain cloud resources • Design and develop processes to improve system automation, speed, accuracy, and operational workflow • Participate in a GitOps organization that uses code repos to monitor both code and environment state• Partner with cloud security teams to harden and secure cloud infrastructure • Provide tooling and automated solutions to enable self-service • Improve availability, resiliency, and recoverability of key data systems by leveraging modern configuration management, deployment methods, and architectural patterns • Enhance observability and supportability of the database and other storage solutions in the cloud • Work closely with software engineers to improve operational workflows, capabilities, and provisioning processes

Qualifications: • Hands-on experience with public cloud providers (AWS) • Deep experience with Git source control and Cloud based repositories (Github, Gitlab, CodeCommit)• Ability to write automation scripts and web services (Python, Typescript) • Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation) • Experience working with CI/CD systems and pipelines (Gitlab Runners, Jenkins, CodePipeline) • Experience with Compute platforms (EC2, Kubernetes, ECS, Lambda)• Ability to work closely with development teams to find solutions to technical problems • Experience with analyzing and troubleshooting networks and distributed systems • Experience with modern SDLC practices • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Strong troubleshooting skills

Expected annual base salary range:

$145,000 - $170,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
