Cloud Engineer
Job Description
Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our pack. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a growing team of engineers working to deploy modern cloud services in an unclassified environment to support our client’s analysis of open source materials. Daily efforts will include automating several aspects of the infrastructure through the use of scripting with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) tools. The goal is to move to a GitOps environment where everything is version controlled and consistently deployable via Git. The team supports the accreditation of these environments by working closely with Information System Security Officers and Managers. Our mission includes expanding the capabilities offered through the infrastructure by adding new services and a Platform as a Service (PaaS) layer, potentially configuring and deploying services such as Kubernetes and Istio. We will be leveraging best practices throughout Dark Wolf to bring modern day software factory DevOps practices to this client’s organization. Efforts will be mainly focused on infrastructure, networking, or cloud services depending upon your background and interests. This position requires a clearance with polygraph and is located in Northern Virginia.Â
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Previous experience working with modern Cloud Service Provider environments, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Previous experience with IaC and CaC, including technologies such as CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, and/or Terraform
- Demonstrated experience with shell scripting, including Bash and/or PowerShell
- An understanding of major services provided in modern IaaS offerings, including compute, storage, networking, IdAM, auditing, and alarms
- An understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and several of the control families that must be addressed at the infrastructure level
- Previous experience configuring and deploying a CI/CD pipeline using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
- Previous experience configuring and deploying automated testing tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, OWASP DC, JUnit, and/or Snyk
- Previous experience with using one-way transfer tools to move data from the low-side to the high-side
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
- AWS Solutions Architect certification (or equivalent Cloud Service Provider certification)
- Previous experience working within the uC2S environment
- Previous experience achieving ATO through the client’s Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process
- A willingness to learn about new ATO methodologies, including Fast Track and Continuous ATO
- Previous experience working in a DevOps environment where you closely collaborated with developers and security personnel to increase automation and efficiency within the Software Development Lifecycle
