About the role | He Aha Te Tūranga
The Cloud Engineer is primarily focused on the automation of infrastructure and software delivery processes. The goal is to enable teams to adopt Continuous Delivery/Integration and DevOps practices, which streamline the software development lifecycle and accelerate the delivery of business value.
The position will be responsible for the tools, processes, and culture that enable efficient and reliable software delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Empower delivery teams across the organization to embrace Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, and DevOps principles, accelerating the delivery of business value.
- Foster an Agile culture within teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and iterative development to respond effectively to changing business needs.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, leveraging automation tools to streamline build, test, and deployment processes.
- Utilize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and configuration management tools to provision, manage, and scale cloud resources efficiently and consistently.
- Administer version control systems, artifact repositories, and other development tools to ensure smooth collaboration and code management.
- Develop and implement effective release management strategies, including feature branching and parallel development, to minimize risk and ensure smooth deployments.
- Leverage containerization, serverless computing, and other cloud-native technologies to build scalable and resilient applications.
- Stay current with the latest trends in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), PaaS, IaaS, and relevant software development languages to ensure optimal technology choices.
About you | Ko Wai Koe
You will have 5+ years Hands-on experience in a DevOps or similar role, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in AWS and/or Azure environments. You’ll have experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK, demonstrating the ability to automate the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure, and experience with serverless architecture and services such as AWS SAM. Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, Python, or TypeScript for automating tasks and building custom tools is highly desired, along with hands-on experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub) and build automation tools (e.g., Buildkite, GitHub Actions).
