The Opportunity and Team
As a Cloud Engineer of the Cloud Onboarding team, you are responsible to help teams across MassMutual adopt to AWS/Azure Cloud environments faster and ensure that all deployments align with standard deployment patterns and best practices approved by enterprise architecture and are secured based on both MassMutual standards as well as standards in our Industry. The team works on various Cloud, DevOps and Observability tools and technologies and like AWS, Azure, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform Cloud, HashiCorp Vault, NewRelic, SumoLogic, etc. Since this is a team that serves various app teams at MassMutual, the team is uniquely positioned to work with wide variety of applications and deployment patterns. This team is always ready to solve problems for app teams and is recognized by all IT teams at MassMutual.
The Impact (Responsibilities)

• Establish and stay familiar with standard deployment patterns approved by enterprise architecture.
• Assist with automated deployments to AWS/Azure.
• Create CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Write IaC using Terraform and deploy infrastructure using Terraform Cloud.
• Create dashboards and alerts in New Relic, CloudWatch, etc.
• Implement industry best practices in app deployment to public cloud environments.
• Ensure development teams are set up for success with tools and practices as they upgrade to a cloud-based DevOps model of development.
• Mentor all team members regardless of their level
• Develop collaborative partnerships with internal partners
• Contribute material time to developing junior and mid-level team members
• Leads the team on technical decisions and helps drive other team members towards solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years in architecting and implementing fully automated (IaC/Terraform), secure, reliable, scalable & resilient hybrid-cloud solutions.
• 5+ Years of experience with DevOps concepts, tools (containers, (CI/CD - Github, Jenkins, Artifactory, Helm), etc.) and emerging technologies.
• 2+ years experience with Kubernetes, microservices architecture.
• 2+ years of experience with Terraform.
• 1+ years of experience with observability tools such as Splunk, New Relic, DataDog.
• 1+ years of experience with network infrastructure (Ex. setting up and managing firewalls, WAFs, network segregation, VPNs, and network ACLs.)

Preferred Qualifications :

• CKAD - Certified Kubernetes Application Developer or other k8 certs.
• AWS /Azure certification e.g., Solution Architect, Developer, Administrator, Security, DevOps
• Experience with on-prem to cloud migration.
• Experience with cloud security toolsets (Prisma, ZeroNorth, Wiz, JFrog Xray, CloudWatch etc.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to thrive in a collaborative and cross-functional environment
• Work collaboratively with Cloud/DevOps developers, platform delivery lead, solution architects, enterprise architects to define and develop secure, highly scalable enterprise cloud products

Salary Range: $144,800.00-$190,000.00
