Location: Reston, VA with remote flexibility

Clearance: Active TS with ability to obtain SCI (minimum). TS/SCI or TS/SCI with Polygraph (preferred).

As a Cloud Engineer you will:

• Develop solutions utilizing Software Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) technologies to connect on premise networks to cloud environments 
• Recommend network design enhancements to improve cloud services and on premises systems availability and functionality 
• Provide continuous improvement of Network platform solutioning, specification & design, systems integration, platform lifecycle management 
• Build and utilize SDN templates to automate the provisioning of network devices 
• Leverage programming language modules to automate deployment, operation, and maintenance of network device configurations in physical and virtual networks 
• Create code/scripts to integrate network devices with log collection, and network monitoring and alerting systems 
• Assist in the design and implementation of LAN/WAN using switch and router technology 
• Assess hardware and software functionality and suitability within the existing network environment 
• Utilize network analysis tools to identify and mitigate performance problems in the network 
• Monitor services with log aggregations, automated analysis, reporting, and alerting in support of incident detection and response
• Assist the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Process through identification, documentation, and mitigation of network security controls. 
• Ensure that systems adhere to security compliance and best practices 

Required Qualifications:

• Clearance: Active TS with ability to obtain SCI (minimum). TS/SCI or TS/SCI with Polygraph (preferred).
• Experience with Software Defined Networking and SD-WAN technologies, particularly SDN Controller, Service and NFV Orchestration, Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), or Virtual Network Functions (VNF) 
• Demonstrated ability to programmatically update and modify SDN configurations using NETCONF/YANG 
• Experience with SDN/NFV platform along with AWS and Azure Cloud Architecture and development Network platform architecture and design 
• Experience coding scripts with one or more of the following: 
  • Python, Bash, or PowerShell 
  • Azure and AWS CLIs and APIs 
  • CloudFormation or Amazon CDK 
• Experience working with a Linux Operating System 
• Ability to utilize network analysis tools to resolve routine network performance problems 
• Working knowledge of the theory and practice underlying LAN/WAN network operations 
• Problem-solving skills to identify, mitigate, and/or solve network challenges 
• Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate, and create consensus 
• Ability to draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies 
• MS Office suite proficiency, to include Teams, Visio, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Ability to provide clear, accurate, and simple explanations of technical procedures and processes to audiences of varying degrees of technical proficiency  
• Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Security Plus certification 
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification 
• AWS Certified SysOps, DevOps, and/or Solutions Architect
• MS Azure Certifications related to Azure networking

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times
