Cloud Engineer
Job Description
Responsibilities
The Cloud Engineer is responsible the design, configuration and operational aspects of Cloud based core services, such as Azure, Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, AzureAD) and Device Management. Cloud Engineers administer premises solutions while assisting with the journey to move these systems to the cloud. Additionally, the Cloud Engineer works closely with the firm to understand business requirements, identify priorities and develop roadmap and implementation plans for cloud-based solutions.
- Complete lifecycle management of key infrastructure systems both on premises and in the cloud:
- Respond to leadership strategies or business requirements by designing, planning, building, supporting and maintaining infrastructure using a 'cloud first' approach.
- Maintain and monitor existing premises infrastructure while evaluating suitability to the task for cloud versus premises approach.
- Develop and improve premises and cloud solution standards and ensure standards are being met.
- Engage in capacity planning to implement, administer and troubleshoot premises and Cloud solutions and tools.
- Provide on call support on a rotational basis for infrastructure systems
- Assist with strategic and tactical technology projects as required
- Apply technical proficiencies in premises and cloud systems to defined project objectives.
- Adhere to defined project management guidelines including scoping, capacity planning, time entry, KPI's, milestones and dashboarding to keep leadership informed on status.
- Compliance, security and business continuity management
- Participation in security compliance efforts and reporting for applicable industry frameworks including but not limited to SOC, HIPAA, etc.
- Patch and vulnerability management for premises and cloud workloads
- Develop, implement, monitor and audit required back-up and recovery procedures to ensure requirements are being met.
- Professional development
- Integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate
- Accept opportunities to represent the firm through internal assignments
Qualifications
- Associates Degree required, Bachelors Degree preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of experience required.
- Ability to prioritize, be attentive to details, and maintain confidentiality, while providing exceptional client service and quality.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills, along with organizational, analytical, problem-solving and computer skills, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with technical competence in accounting
- Solid Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) skills
- Create best practices for area of responsibility.
- A sense of urgency and a commitment to quality and timely completion of projects
