About the Role

MetroSys is seeking a versatile and highly skilled Cloud Engineer to support cloud operations and ongoing infrastructure modernization efforts. This role is Azure-focused but the ideal candidate will be adaptable across a wide range of cloud platforms tools and technologies. You will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining secure scalable and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure while collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure high performance and reliability.

This is a fully remote role offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S. with the expectation of occasional collaboration across multiple time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure services (IaaS PaaS SaaS).

  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support application modernization containerization and deployment pipelines.

  • Implement cloud governance and security best practices including identity management access control and compliance.

  • Monitor and optimize performance availability and cost efficiency of cloud environments.

  • Support multi-cloud initiatives integrating Azure with AWS GCP and other platforms as needed.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues providing escalation support when required.

  • Document architectures policies and procedures for operational excellence and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer Systems Engineer or related role.

  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure services (Azure AD Azure Networking Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Storage Virtual Machines App Services Functions etc.).

  • Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud environments (AWS GCP VMware etc.).

  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform ARM templates Bicep or similar).

  • Solid background in networking security and identity management in the cloud.

  • Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell Python Bash).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions Azure DevOps Jenkins or equivalent).

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert .

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes Helm).

  • Exposure to cloud cost optimization tools and practices.

  • Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST ISO 27001 CIS benchmarks HIPAA etc.).
