Cloud Engineer II

As a Cloud Engineer II at Silverado Technologies, you are a valuable member of our Professional Services team, playing a pivotal role in designing, implementing and supporting cutting-edge cloud-based solutions for small to medium-sized businesses. Leveraging your expertise in cloud technologies, you lead end-to-end processes, architecting scalable, secure and high-performing solutions using Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.

Collaborating closely with clients and cross-functional teams, you translate business objectives into comprehensive cloud architecture designs. Your role involves developing migration strategies, providing technical guidance and staying current with industry trends to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with account managers to design and implement scalable cloud solutions tailored to meet client requirements.
• Execute medium-sized cloud design and migration projects, ensuring efficient integration of cloud-based infrastructures.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline cloud services and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing systems and applications.
• Implement and maintain robust cloud security practices, adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards.
• Conduct performance assessments and scalability reviews to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in cloud technologies, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
• Participate in on-call rotation schedules for after-hours support and incident resolution related to cloud services.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud solutions in a professional environment.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using relevant tools.
• In-depth understanding of cloud services and architecture.
• Proficiency in network and VPN design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and best practices, ensuring data protection and compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork and interaction with clients.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Alternatively, an equivalent combination of relevant certifications and practical experience in cloud computing and related technologies may be considered.

Desired Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
• CompTIA Cloud+ Certification

Physical Requirements

• Be able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Be able to work as an after-hours on-call escalation engineer in a rotating schedule
• May be expected to sit at a desk for long periods of time
• Can expect to spend long hours in from of a computer screen
• Could involve travel to client sites
