Cloud Engineer - Wichita, KS

We are currently seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team here in Wichita, KS. The Cloud Engineer is responsible for administrative, technical, and professional work within the technology function. This position is responsible for cloud platform management and architecture, O365 management, user and platform security in our cloud environment, incident response, and cloud-focused project work.

Essential functions of the role:

Cloud Platform Management and Architecture

• Lead the daily operating activities and performance management of the bank's cloud environment, including service management, cloud feature enhancements, and performance upgrades
• Define logical, implementation, deployment and security architectures based on best practices within bank requirements
• Review cloud integrations and work with applicable teams to develop best practices for integrations with cloud services
• Liaise with third party application vendors and support as needed
• Lead architecture and management of the bank's O365 environment
• Lead project activities and root cause analysis related to the bank's cloud environment
• Ensure that the cloud design is adhering to required standards, high availability & DR requirements and industry-based compliance and observability needs
• Work with IT teams on security, data protection and loss strategy and failover failback strategy
• Deliver best practices around provisioning, operations and management of cloud environment using CI/CD and automation
• Ensure that user access to the bank's cloud environment is managed appropriately via role-based access controls
• Provide forward thinking thought leadership throughout the life of the program and proactively fix gaps

Incident Response

• Work with the teams to resolve technical issues/discrepancies and solve technical problems in the context of cloud
• Lead response reviews
• Ensure the necessary documentation is updated following performance incidents

Other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility of the job

Requirements

• College Degree or level of education that, together with industry experience, enables the applicant to meet the job requirements
• 5+ years of IT service delivery experience and should include at least 3 years of hands-on Azure experience (Azure IaaS and PaaS, Docker/Kubernetes, Cloud Native Services)
• Experience building Docker Containers and orchestrating them on Azure Cloud Native Azure Kubernetes Services Platform required
• Experience building solutions leveraging Azure PaaS services (Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure Key Vault, Azure AD, Azure API Management, Azure Storage, Azure SQL/DB, Cosmos DB) required
• Knowledge of Hybrid Cloud connectivity, network architecture, VNET's, NSGs, and routing required
• Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies: AZ-303 and AZ-304 certifications required
