Cloud FinOps Engineer

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Monitor and manage Azure costs and invoicing.
• Analyze Azure cost data using APIs and FinOps tools to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare and present cost optimization recommendations to stakeholders.
• Manage and optimize Azure licenses and global reservation scopes, including shared reservations and blended rates.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for FinOps reporting.
• Create business cases and financial models to support cloud cost strategies.
• Engage with cloud users to provide insights and guidance on cost-effective usage.
• Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure environments, including virtualization solutions and server/storage hardware.
• Configure and manage Microsoft ADFS and server applications.
• Ensure optimal performance of cloud-based and on-premises systems by implementing best practices.
• Deploy and manage containerization solutions, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement orchestration tools such as Rancher and Argo CD for efficient container management.
• Write and maintain scripts to automate system administration tasks and cloud operations.
• Use scripting for efficient configuration management and deployment processes.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures for server, storage, and cloud infrastructure issues.
• Resolve incidents and problems in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Apply ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
• Document processes and maintain compliance with organizational policies and standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align infrastructure and cost strategies with business goals.
• Provide coaching and training to team members and cloud users on cost management and system optimization.
• Drive innovation in cloud infrastructure and cost management practices.
• Recommend and implement solution-oriented approaches to enhance system performance and reduce costs.
• Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, cost analyses, and operational processes.
• Provide regular updates and reports to management and stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed in this position?

• Bachelor Degree
• Practical experience in Azure cost/invoicing management.
• Familiarity with global reservation scopes, shared reservations, and blended rates.
• Ability to analyze and identify cost optimization opportunities and present them to various stakeholders.
• Experience in Cloud license management.
• Good knowledge of Azure cost API data.
• Proficiency in Power BI and FinOps reporting.
• Coaching mindset, innovation, and solution-oriented thinking.
• Strong communication skills for creating business cases and engaging with cloud users.
• Good knowledge and experience of ITIL
• Good knowledge of server and storage hardware
• Good knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems
• Good knowledge of Microsoft virtualisation solutions
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure
• Good knowledge of container technologies
• Good knowledge of cloud computing
• Good knowledge of server applications
• Good knowledge of Microsoft ADFS configuration
• Good knowledge of scripting
• Good knowledge containerization and orchestration (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Argo CD)
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures
• Good knowledge of English
