We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to drive our transition to an Azure cloud-based infrastructure.


Position Summary:

This position will drive the transition to an Azure cloud-based network infrastructure while also supporting the configuration and cybersecurity of the company's Azure data warehouse/data factory. Responsibilities also include the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the on-prem network, servers, firewalls, and all related systems while developing a roadmap for their transition to the cloud that is focused on protecting and maintaining the integrity and security of all company electronic information.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable Azure cloud-based infrastructure and network solutions with a focus on cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure Azure cloud solutions are securely integrated with existing infrastructure systems and applications.
  • Maintain the reliable operation of infrastructure and security-related equipment, as well as interfaces to other Information Technology systems used to meet business objectives and processes.
  • Partner with team members in response to a system or network security breach or other recovery processes in accordance with the company's incident response and business continuity plans.
  • Perform vulnerability testing/mitigation, risk analyses, and security assessments.
  • Install security updates and patches on existing infrastructure and security-related hardware and software. Conduct regularly scheduled (and emergency) maintenance, as needed, to minimize downtime and the resulting impact on end-users.
  • Recommend and implement technical solutions to improve network performance and cybersecurity.
  • Enforce Information Security policies and procedures which are designed to protect the company's electronic information, both in transit and while at rest, from unauthorized access, duplication, modification, or destruction.
  • Report regulatory compliance issues, audit findings, security events, and instances of suspected or actual breaches of information security immediately to IT and company management.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to infrastructure and security-related system configurations, processes, procedures, hardware inventory, software licenses, service records, and maintenance agreements.
  • Understand business problems that drive the demand for scalable infrastructure and automation
  • Build a highly automated infrastructure provisioning process to enable the build, deployment, and testing of new software
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • 4-year college or university degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of proven work experience with Azure cloud-based systems.
  • Extensive experience with core IT infrastructure (Windows Active Directory, VMware, Cisco) and information security systems (Checkpoint firewalls, VPN and IDS/IPS as well as Proofpoint enterprise cybersecurity).
  • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud-based computing patterns; Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Experience with the Azure cloud platform. Previous conversions from on-prem to cloud strongly desired.
  • Experience with supporting Azure Data Factory infrastructure as well as standing up and configuring SQL databases.
  • Familiarity with application patterns such as Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures, and programming languages such as Python, C#, and Java.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and analytical/logical problem-solving abilities.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network/internet protocols and standards.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience leveraging programming and scripting languages for automation, including PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, or C
  • Strong level knowledge of Azure services and solutions and experience with all aspects of cloud infrastructure lifecycle
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to travel to support equipment in co-lo facility located in Eastern Washington and available after-hours for outages, information security-related events, or system maintenance
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds


The salary range for this position is $112,000 to $178,600. Starting salary is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for an annual company bonus at an incentive target level of 12%.
