We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Operations Team . As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with our data scientists, analysts, and other cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and reliable data pipelines and systems. We are looking for Inquisitive, creative, ambitious, collaborative and autonomous individuals to join the data science team LG electronics focused on digital transformation.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using technologies such as Apache Airflow, or other relevant frameworks
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into BigQuery, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and provide them with the necessary infrastructure and tools to access and analyze the data
• Optimize and tune data pipelines and ETL processes for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring data availability and reliability
• Implement data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in data engineering, GCP, and big data technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Document data engineering processes, procedures, and workflows for reference and knowledge sharing
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior data engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, master's degree is a plus
• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Strong proficiency in Python programming language for data engineering tasks
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Composer
• Experience in Apache Airflow, other GCP services, such as Cloud Logging, Pub/Sub, Data Proc, or Data Studio
• E xperience with designing and building scalable and reliable data pipelines using Apache Beam or similar frameworks
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize complex data pipelines
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and a drive for continuous learning and improvement.
