Cloud Infrastructure SRE, CNS
Job Description
We are a B2B technology innovation leader pioneering the future where networks meet cloud.
At Nokia you will have a positive impact on people's lives and help build the capabilities needed for a more productive, sustainable, and accessible world.
Be part of a culture built on an inclusive way of working where we are open to your ideas, you are empowered to take risks and are encouraged to be fearless in bringing your authentic self to work.
Cloud and Network Services
As Nokia's growth engine, we create value for communication service providers and enterprise customers by leading the transition to cloud-native software and as-a-service delivery models. Our inclusive team of dreamers, doers and disruptors push the limits from impossible to possible.
The team you will be a part of
As a Cloud Infrastructure SRE, you will be part of a special R&D product development task strength preventing and solving the most critical and strategic customer issues encountered in the field. In an ever-growing demand for 5G network infrastructure and increasing customer install base, as a Cloud Infra SRE you will enable telco-grade cloud-native applications to be deployed on top of any cloud, private and public: Nokia's own cloud infrastructure (based on open-source tools
such as K8s/Docker as well as OpenStack), VMware Tanzu, OpenShift, AWS EC2 /EKS, GCP GKE, Azure AKS.
As part of this demanding role, you will also help to build new CI/CD automation tools and best practices/processes for the deployment and updates of various telco-grade products, on top of Nokia Continuous Delivery platform. The automation will add agility, reliability and overall efficiency for both telco-cloud(s) and application workloads. You will create automation tools that will be used by the rest of the team as well as professional services and operations teams, to simplify "day one" and "day two" operations. You will be working side by side with product developers and product management to push automation and operability tools to make the cloud platform more reliable.
As a Cloud Infra SRE, you will be engaging the most strategic customer activities: early deliveries of products and platform, assist in validating and defining the best solution architecture, solving complex problems, and contributing the solutions into SRE and Product branches. It is expected that things will not go smoothly all the time, so you will also automate and implement the solution for a problem you have solved, so the system will recover automatically next time. Developing and automating will be 50% of your day-to-day activities while running the cloud infrastructure operations will take the rest of your time. Additionally, you will be enabling our global services teams on our new products, platforms, tools and features, especially the SRE tools developed by the team.
