Cloud MS SQL Database Automation Engineer

Job Description:

• Strong Knowledge of T-SQL, Powershell and PowerBI
• Database Orphan User Removal
  • Identify, report and analyse the output
  • Plan and execute automation for Orphan user removal by using Powershell+TSQL / Scheduled Stored Procedure
  • Develop Security Reports on PowerBI
• Removal of elevated privileges for Logins/Users by using Powershell+TSQL / Scheduled Stored Procedure
• Power BI Reporting for SQL Server Capacity, Performance and Server Configuration (Identify deviations from Standard configuration)
  • Analyse report requirements, create automation to collect metadata, build reports on PowerBI
• Powershell + PowerBI to provide weekend automated reports regarding Database Health checks and readiness
• Automation of tasks and processes for large environments (1000+ servers) by using parallel processing

• SQL Server
  • Logins / Users permissions
    • Strong Knowledge of SQL Server Security
    • Identify and remove elevated privileges for Logins and Users
    • Orphan Users Removal
      • Report Database Orphan Users via Powershell + T-SQL
      • Strong Knowledge of Database Objects Ownership and Permissions
      • Able to identify all requirements before removing users (Object Ownership transfer)
  • Identify and collect relevant metadata from SQL Server, regarding configurations, performance, security
  • Use SQL Server Central Management Server (CMS) for collecting data
  • SQL Server High Availability
• Powershell
  • Import/Export files to several formats (csv, xml, txt,...)
  • Connect to SQL Database servers, and execute simple to complex SQL Instructions (T-SQL)
  • Connect to Database Servers to retrieve OS / Applications settings
  • Deploy changes across the board, by using serial / parallel batches targeting SQL or OS
  • Track progress of scripts executions on serial / parallel batches
  • Error Handling
• PowerBI
  • Able to develop reports from scratch, according to requirements and maintain existing ones
  • Differences and limitations between ImportData and DirectQuery modes
  • Knowledge of DAX
  • Manage User Level access
• Medium OS Knowledge (Windows Server)
• Basic Networking skills
• Basic Active Directory knowledge (User accounts, permissions, windows groups)
• Able to do Reverse Engineering
