Cloud Operations Database Administrator

As a Cloud Operations Database Administrator, you will provide technical vision and leadership related to Microsoft SQL Server operations on the Cloud Operations team. You will be responsible for maintaining and nurturing Calabrio's Cloud & Data Center database environments.

What you'll be doing:

• Play a lead role in all aspects of database management including installation, patching, backup, recovery, performance, tuning, security and space management.
• Maintaining Indexes, Usage and Performance Statistics
• Ensuring database integrity
• Implementing/maintaining database related monitoring and alerting
• Work as a member of the Cloud Operations team, triaging & automating database related tasks
• Detecting and solving Virtual Log File issues

We're looking for:

• 5-10 years of SQL Server database administration experience in high volume Multi-Terabyte OLTP environments
• 5 or more years of experience working within High Availability (HA) SQL Server environments
• 5 or more years of experience optimizing T-SQL queries
• Experience developing/modeling high performing databases (both OLTP and OLAP)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL servers (2017, 2019 and 2022 versions)
• Experience working with blocking and deadlocking issues
• Capacity Planning Experience
• Experience monitoring Microsoft SQL Server in a cloud and VMware hosted environment
• Solid experience related to maintaining indexes and statistics
• Heavy TSQL scripting experience for backend processes as well as for usage by applications
• Experience with development of ETL Layers and Report
• Solid understanding of SQL Server internals
• Experience designing and utilizing table partitioning as well as data archiving practices
• Experience leveraging QueryStore
• Experience in Agile Application Development & Scrum methodologies
• Experience with either PowerShell or Python programming
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Data Management and Analytics preferred

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• Five (5) or more of virtualized server experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Three (3) or more of cloud-based experience with AWS RDS SQL Server or Azure hosted SQL Server
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must be able to maintain security clearance in order to comply with the law, regulation, or executive order, or required by Federal, State, or Local Government Contract
• Willingness to work as part of an on-call rotation and conduct planned after hour maintenance as required
