Cloud Operations Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a technically motivated Cloud Operations Engineer with a strong background in reliability-focused Azure cloud environments.
The Cloud Ops Engineer will play a critical role in managing and troubleshooting Azure environments for a secure data distribution project involving relational databases and S3 data lake. A deep understanding of Azure SQL and strong scripting skills with PowerShell and Azure CLI are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Perform deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of high-availability enterprise solutions in line with industry standards using Microsoft Azure
- Handle system monitoring, efficiency tuning, uptime management, alert notifications, and execute automation tasks to ensure system health
- Build and set up new development tools to improve automation and streamline code deployment, with a primary focus on Azure operations and application configuration
- Manage and troubleshoot Azure SQL Database services, taking ownership of issues and driving resolutions
- Diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure or software applications, utilizing tools such as Azure Web Services, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights
- Utilize PowerShell for automating operational tasks
- Proactively identify and address technical risks that may affect system performance or security
- Maintain and update documentation on system processes to adhere to compliance and auditing standards
- Respond to system failures and outages, including out-of-hours emergency interventions when necessary
- Assist with deployment of software in customer virtual private clouds, including AWS environments

- 2+ years of experience in a SRE or DevOps role
- Expertise in Azure SQL Troubleshooting
- Proficiency in PowerShell and Azure CLI
- Background in Azure Environment Management and Windows Server Administration
- Skills in managing SQL servers
- Competency in Azure Web Services, Monitor, and Application Insights
- Qualifications in system automation with a focus on Azure
