Position Overview:

Joining us as a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be instrumental in sustaining the operational excellence of our SaaS solutions. Your role will be centered around operations-centric activities and support, ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of our cloud-based applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain Kubernetes clusters and infrastructure on Azure.
  • Develop and implement IaC (Infrastructure as Code) with Terraform for resource provisioning and configuration management.
  • Provide operational support for our data platforms including Redis, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, MongoDB, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline operational processes and tasks.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
  • Promptly respond to and resolve operational issues and incidents.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, upgrades, and patches as needed.
  • Perform performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning, and demand forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and practices.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to operational activities and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with cloud based global deployment strategies and patterns.
  • Proven experience with Azure Cloud Services and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with queuing technologies such as Redis and RabbitMQ
  • Experience with relational database technologies.
  • Strong automation skills with proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Azure networking and security.
  • Comprehensive understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog.
  • Experience with source control management system and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) environments such as Azure Devops Pipelines or Github.
  • Proficiency in Cloud IaaS, PaaS & SaaS on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with IaC technologies such as Terraform.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Guacamole, Argo Rollouts, and/or Istio.
  • Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server
  • Experience with configuration management technologies such as SaltStack.
  • Familiarity with secret/certificate management systems like HashiCorp Vault or Azure Keyvault.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like React.
  • Understanding of microservice application deployment techniques, best practices, design patterns, and anti-patterns.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.

The benefits of working at Circadence

Compensation negotiable, depending on level of experience - $140,000 - $150,000.
