Summary / Role Purpose

The Cloud Operations FP&A Senior Manager will support the Global Infrastructure & Operations organization and cloud migration initiative. This resource will assume operational ownership of the development of the annual financial budgeting, monthly and quarterly forecasting, capital planning & budgeting, and the long-term financial plan for all activities linked to cloud infrastructure and operations. This position will be a critical partner with Infrastructure, DevOps, and Product Development to execute the Ansys cloud migration strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with Global Infrastructure & Operations, DevOps teams, Product Development, Finance SMEs, and Management to drive processes financially impacting cloud operations
  • Partner with project management staff to develop, track, and validate project based financial KPIs and related metrics for Infrastructure projects in support of project goals
  • Manage capital and operating spend, prepare monthly financial and ad-hoc reporting, quantify, and analyze benefits driven by IT cloud migration initiatives.
  • Support the newly created Cloud Ops organization and provide strategic input on cost saving initiatives, reporting, and forecasting models
  • Act as a subject matter expert and architect for operating models and cloud operating models to measure impacts to people, process, and technology
  • Develop detailed budgets, variance reports and accurate and timely forecasts supporting global business activities and new acquisitions
  • Prepare detailed monthly financial results packages for Infrastructure and Finance reporting and lead monthly business reviews with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Deconstruct complex Cloud infrastructure components possessing multiple cost drivers while enabling understanding of such drivers for the HQ and Cloud delivery teams
  • Design and implement on-premises and cloud reporting capabilities via MS BI stack enabling financial driver insights
  • Develop and deploy year over year forecasting modeling capabilities
  • Develop and deploy reporting capabilities providing insights into the usage and related benefits of Reserved Instance and related programs, while educating business leaders, engineering, and ops teams on such usage and benefits

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative discipline (MBA, CPA, CMA, or CFA is a plus)
  • 8+ years of combined experience in FP&A, IT Finance, Cloud Operations, and Infrastructure support
  • Understand end-to-end IT operations, migration, pricing, and financial modeling techniques
  • Possess demonstrated leadership qualities to engage and influence team and external partners while exhibiting excellent organizational and time management skills to meet financial objective
  • Demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to present to senior level executives and supporting staff
  • Possess acumen to drive technical and business objectives to interpret organizational financial impacts
  • Possess working knowledge of Cloud platform architecture including Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and/or Google Cloud (GCP)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills required
  • Drive projects to completion in a complex, deadline driven environment.
