Cloud Operations Manager

We’re looking for a seasoned professional with a blend of cloud systems design, data pipeline and financial reporting experience to own and drive our cloud operations management function. This is a high-profile role within Vectra responsible for exec briefings on cost and profitability for products and services that are critical to the continued success of Vectra. This is also a very technically hands-on role with data pipeline creation, automation and deep engineering engagement on cost-drivers for new and existing features.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting and tracking of Vectra cloud spend and tracking and reporting on internal business KPIs such as Gross Margin
• Automation of data pipelines to deliver near real-time visibility
• Partner with key stakeholders (including execs, PMs and engineering) to understand and support their intelligence/KPI needs and drive for features required to support that
• Management of cloud cost optimization programs
• Leverage systems design or architectural awareness to go one level deeper:
  • Understand technical drivers of cost and potential optimizations
  • Understand cost basis of individual Vectra products or features
  • Engage with engineering during design phase to develop cost forecasts and help engineering deliver cost-aware designs
• Develop a centre of excellence around Cloud Operations Management to support the current and future needs of Vectra.

Requirements

• 5+ years of cloud services delivery and/or cloud operations management
• Strong financial business sense – ability to intimately understand and communicate business metrics
• Strong understanding of cloud systems architecture and design
• Strong experience with creating data pipelines, automation and actionable business intelligence
• Strong communication skills – ability to communicate effectively to execs, finance and engineering
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and across geographies with multiple stakeholders
• Knowledge of AWS cost optimization programs a strong plus
