UKG is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join a growing team that's leading Platform capability for our Engineering organization. You will build new and maintain existing capabilities in our public and private (on-premises) Cloud platforms. You and the team own our Cloud Experience for UKG. You will use building blocks, Go language, Terraform, Ansible, and work with on-premise infrastructure OpenStack and Cloud services in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
In support of our culture, we are adopting a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and the rest of the week from home. The UKG office that this position is located in is Lowell, MA.

Job Responsibilities:β’ Manage, improve, and maintain our tools and services stack across the organization and deliver value incrementally.β’ Maintain and enhance our current set of managed services, which include Kubernetes, MongoDB, MongoDB Atlas, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, and PostgreSQL.β’ Collaborate with Development and Engineering teams to understand gaps and requirements while meeting expectations.β’ Design and implement solutions for internal self-service offering technical architecture diagrams and user guides for internal administrators, operators, and users.β’ Join team meetings daily and as needed and collaborate with peers and teams within the organization.β’ Troubleshoot issues by reviewing information at hand, develop detailed implementation plan with automation and test details, and mentoring team members.β’ Be on a rotational on-call schedule with the team.β’ Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager or team lead depending on severity and business needs.β’ Occasional travel as necessary
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:β’ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, however equivalent work experience in similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.β’ 2+ years of experience building and/or configuring Cloud infrastructure and services (on-prem or public) through code, such as Terraform.β’ 2+ years of experience with Cloud Native solutions (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and/or Azure).β’ 2+ years of experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Java/Golang/Ruby/Python).β’ Windows or Linux OS and Networking experience (TCP/IP, Firewalls, SSL, Load Balancing, WAFs, SMTP, DNS, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:β’ Experience with databases such as MySQL, NoSQL (MongoDB, Atlas), Elasticsearch.β’ Experience with Redis and Message Queue (RabbitMQ, etc).β’ Experience in Agile delivery and Scrum/Kanban frameworks.
