Department Overview

Service Delivery Operations is the IT operations team of Managed and Support Services. Our mission is to support our partners (Global Call Centers, Network Operations Center, Secure Operations Center, Federal Operations Center, etc.) as well as providing support for our external customers to ensure their infrastructure and systems are operating as expected. We deliver solutions to the public safety sector.
The group is committed to providing technology and tools which will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We provide a comprehensive, end to end public safety solution. The Motorola Solutions' provided content is focused on a suite of integrated solutions, including a Push To Talk (PTT) Solution, Public Safety Messaging Solution, and Public Safety Mapping Solution. These applications work to provide real-time, actionable, and analyzable data to public safety entities.
Job Description

This Cloud Platform Engineer position will help Motorola accomplish its mission by fulfilling the following:

• Act as a subject matter expert for Cloud Infrastructure, microservices, kubernetes and related technologies

• Develop and Document Agile Methodology and Devops Processes

• Take part in responding to Production Alerts

• Participate in the design and implementation of project-based integration solutions in accordance with existing standards, the approved integration roadmap and industry best practices

• In compliance with Company Security Policies, help plan, design, and enforce procedures which safeguard the integrity and access to systems.

• Review systems documentation, monitoring data and trends, corporate knowledge base, and recommend immediate and permanent remediation and resolution using automation where possible.

• The primary focus of this position will be in a support capacity, and the candidate should be familiar with ITIL methodologies.

• Follow the change management procedures and policies

Qualifications:

• This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent discipline

• Experience with Cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure

• Knowledge of Linux platform and scripting

• Knowledge of network protocols

• Understand and/or experience using ITIL methodology

• Kibana, ElasticSearch, Java, Python, Ruby and PowerShell knowledge would be a plus.

• Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and guidance

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal

Basic Requirements

• Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent discipline
• 3+ years of Cloud infrastructure experience
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
