Internship OverviewÂ
We are looking for interns to join us for our 2024 Summer Internship Program! This 12-week program is set to being June 3rd, so if you are looking for an incredible opportunity to partner with the best and brightest minds in the industry, apply today. This program has been designed with our interns in mind and includes structured learning plans, a dedicated buddy, and a focused capstone project that you will have the opportunity to present in our Internship Showcase! Â

What It’s Like Interning with Us!Â
Weekly Events— just because the internship is remote, doesn’t mean we don’t have time for fun! Last summer, we hosted an Actian tie-dye shirt event, tiny camp fire—complete with smores(!!!), a murder mystery party, and so much more Time with Executives— Interns all get a chance to connect with our executive team through panel discussions, 1:1s, Q&A meetings, and events Workshops & Tech Tuesday’s— Interns all participate in Tech Tuesday’s where they get to learn more about Actian specific technologies, as well as workshops geared towards new professionals Opportunity to travel – we will be hosting a hybrid orientation! For those that are interested in being in person for orientation, we will fly you to our Austin, TX office. Â

Position OverviewÂ
We are seeking a motivated intern to join our dynamic team as a Python/AI Development Intern. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fields of Python programming, artificial intelligence, and software development. The intern will work closely with our experienced team members on real-world projects, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative solutions.Â

Capstone OverviewÂ
This intern will leverage GitHub Copilot to automate the development of the API engine for our in-house API test automation tool. Copilot can assist in generating code for parameterizing the API, setting header and payload information, as well as writing getter and setter methods for handling possible responses. This automation streamlines the process of developing the API test engine, reducing manual effort and accelerating the creation of robust and efficient test automation solutions.Â
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to design, implement, and test Python-based AI solutions
- Utilize GitHub Copilot to streamline code development and enhance productivity
- Assist in the design and implementation of automated testing procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of software solutions
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality
- Research and implement efficient data structures and algorithms to optimize performance
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in Python programming language
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts and techniquesÂ
- Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar code assistance tools is a plusÂ
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and practicesÂ
- Understanding of data structures and algorithms Â
- Familiarity with version control systems such as GitÂ
- Experience with machine learning libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorchÂ
- Knowledge of software development best practices and methodologiesÂ
- Previous internship or project experience in Python development or AIÂ
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a college degree programÂ
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United StatesÂ
