Cloud Sales Engineer, Enterprise
Job Description
Cloud Business Team is based in Samsung SDSA HQ in Ridgefield Park, NJ.
Cloud Business Team is on a mission to provide best in class Cloud service offering to our clients and are looking for a multi-Cloud expert to partner with our Cloud Business Team from business and technical perspective. This ranges from executive-level discussion on overall cloud strategy to deep technical engagements with customer development, infrastructure and architecture teams. As a trusted customer advisor, you'll need to understand best practices around advanced multi Cloud services and solutions. You will partner with architects and SMEs to solutions for a broad range of customer use cases such as hybrid architectures, migration and application modernization initiatives. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical and you should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
Ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to earn the trust with customers and partners at any level, from executive to developer. We are looking for a candidate that can help to build and grow our Cloud Services business.
As an Cloud Sales Engineer, you will be responsible to develop and own the customer relationship with a focus on acquiring new customers and growing existing customer spend and footprint, understanding customer issues and facilitating resolution, and ensuring customer retention and positive experience. You will partner with customer and internal resources to address important and critical priorities. Develop relationship as a true partner by understanding customer needs and strategy to create and service IT infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities:
- As a Sales Engineer you will be on the forefront of the customer solution and service design within our Cloud Business Division
- Developing new business with new customers within our Cloud Business Division
- Seeking new opportunities within existing accounts
- Collaborating with solution offering teams, and other SMEs to provide best solutions for customer needs
- Ensuring the client's technical needs are being met with proposed solutions and services
- Participating in development and delivery of client pursuit materials such proposals, RFP responses, statements of work, discussion decks, as well as execution of sales/pursuit meetings
- Determining scope of services and offered managed services for pursuits based on the customer proposals or conversations
- Creating client pursuit materials in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to share SDSA's capabilities, experience, and qualifications
- Managing technical scoping and solution communications with vendors, 3rd party service providers, SDSA leadership, and client personnel, where needed, during the pursuit process
- Identifying and develop opportunities to provide new and expanded services
- Demonstrating ability to manage multiple pursuits across the Cloud service portfolio
- Seeking opportunities and offer guidance on how to improve the sales methodology including owning and driving internal improvement initiatives
- Preparing, producing, and delivering materials used for reporting on opportunities and sales
- Analyzing complex issues to determine impact and to suggest alternative solutions based on client needs and objectives
- Taking ownership of forecasting and account planning on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
- Utilizing and updating CRM tools to track all pertinent account information and sales progress as well as forecast and prioritize to achieve quarterly goals
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field required
- 5+ years of B2B sales and customer account management experience required
- Experience with the sales and pursuit process is critical for this role as is the ability to assess customer needs for optimal service recommendations for the near-term and long-term
- Successful track record in closing revenue-generating business
- Knowledge of the cloud ecosystem and development lifecycle
- Track record of overachievement on goals and quotas
- Deep understanding of Cloud Services operations and technology
- Ability to translate client requirements into solution design that can be delivered by the Cloud Service Team
- Cloud Foundational certification; Associate Solutions Architect Certification optional
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge in Cloud architecture and solutions
- Ability to travel up to 25% in the U.S.
Nice to Have:
- Broad technology understanding including: cloud architecture, applications development, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, machine learning, networking, security, storage, DevOps, containers, serverless, CI/CD, management and monitoring, cloud migrations, IT transformation
- A demonstrated record of effective collaboration across multiple internal organizations and interactions with partners and customers
- Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach
- Experience in all facets of sales: outbound lead generation, follow up, pipeline management, training, and closing skills required
