US Remote Role: The Cloud Security Engineer is a change agent and ambassador for cyber security. Your primary focus will be to drive the delivery of cyber security controls for the Azure and AWS cloud platform and services, identifying and assessing security threats and risks, defining and enabling secure configuration, and leading security automation. You will also ensure ISM compliance and assist with related activities.

In addition, you would be carrying out the following tasks:

• Implement continuous security control testing and improvements to the monitoring of multi-cloud security events and alerts through optimization and automation.
• Increase transparency of threats and optimize the configuration of cloud-native security tools, e.g. Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud or AWS Inspector, GuardDuty and Shield, etc.
• Monitor, and maintain operational security management systems and respond to security incidents.
• Use security risk metrics to enable DevOps and security to report on threats and controls.
• Reduce security vulnerabilities and configuration weaknesses through standards and increased awareness.
• Enable and improve security configuration and DevOps practices through close collaboration with configuration/development teams and by providing secure design patterns, and a hands-on security engineering capability.
• Supporting the definition and implementation of security requirements and standards.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of Cloud data protection and security architecture, and features in Microsoft Azure (Microsoft Sentinel, 365 Defender, Defender for Cloud) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Macie, IAM, Shield, KMS and Directory Service).
• Strong understanding and practical experience in Windows OS configuration, particularly in securing virtual machines and implementing hardening controls.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud (Security posture, Regulatory compliance), NSGs, and/or AWS Management Console, Systems Manager, CloudTrail, CloudWatch and VPN.
• Able to communicate technical and complex topics in straightforward terms.
• Azure or AWS certifications e.g. Azure Security Engineer, Security Operations Analyst, AWS CCP, AWS SysOps Administrator, Certified Security Specialist.
• Security Certifications (e.g. CEH, SANS GSEC, ISC2 CISSP) are advantageous.
• Demonstrable experience and execution of security automation, and configuration of cloud-native tools to improve their effectiveness.
• Shared examples of how you've collaborated to develop close working relationships with DevOps teams to build/deploy secure solutions and automate security in the CI/CD pipeline.
• Expertise in Kali Linux, Burp Suite, Nessus or other penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tools is desirable.
