Cloud Software Engineer - Remote EU
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Cloud Software Engineer will manage the cloud infrastructure and help providing devops engineering for Precision’s cutting-edge Biomarker Data Management/Integration and Informatics platform, QuartzBio (www.quartz.bio). The main focus is to develop and implement cloud based approaches to support automation, testing and product innovation.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Support of cloud infrastructure management and maintenance, both for development and production; and devops engineering
- Support for designing, automating, testing, documenting, deploying and maintaining the (AWS) cloud infrastructure
- Implementation of strategies optimize cloud infrastructure/solutions to support automation, in collaboration with the team, mostly composed of data scientists, biologists and statisticians and external collaborators
- Perform DevOps/IT tasks for the team, in liaison with organizational IT when necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- 2-5 years software development/engineering experience
- at least 2 years’ experience actively working with cloud compute resources
Other Required:
- In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud computing capabilities (AWS required)
- Experience in DevOps
- Strong skills in IT, especially linux system administration
- Experience with containerized systems (Docker)
- Experience with IaC (Terraform)
- Experience in Gitlab CI
- Exercises judgment within generally defined practices selecting an approach for obtaining solutions
- Team player contributing to a positive, collaborative working environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- AWS certifications (Solution Architect Associate, SysOps Admin Associate,)
- Experience in multiple coding languages, and comfort coming up to speed in new ones
- Ability to manage highly-varied, fast-paced work environment
