Cloud Solutions Architect (App Dev)

As a Cloud Solutions Architect (CSA), you will lead in establishing solutions and architecture for implementing innovative business-critical systems. Work hand in hand with agile teams from product inception to delivery through ongoing product evolution. Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight in supporting successful implementations. Solution Architects are positioned as technical leaders across teams and are responsible for defining, refining, and delivering system and application architecture. The CSA ensures that solutions are well designed, secure, performant, able to meet evolving business needs, and comply with established enterprise guidelines. This role works within a supportive and collaborative software engineering community at AIS.

What You'll Be Doing

• Educate and influence stakeholders and engineering teams on effective cloud solutions and best practices.
• Be an Azure Platform evangelist with our customers.
• Understand customers' overall applications portfolio, IT and business priorities, and success measures to design implementation architectures and solutions (Microsoft and 3rd party solutions) using PaaS, DevOps & Advanced Application coding.
• Define innovative solutions using infrastructure-as-code, deployment orchestration, and automation templates.
• Implement PaaS and IaaS solutions in a public cloud platform such as Azure.
• Use expert-level identity and access management knowledge in on-premises solutions and the cloud, including Azure AD Connect, ADFS, and third-party identity providers.
• Remain abreast of regulatory and compliance requirements to drive successful governance strategies.

Location and Travel Details

This is a remote position with occasional travel (if needed).

Profile of Success

• 5+ years of application development experience with large-scale and/or complex business applications in agile, fast-paced development environments.
• 5+ years leading the architecture and implementation of business applications from concept through production.
• 5+ years leading application development teams of 8+ team members.

• Experience with Agile Development and the ability to be a technical partner to Product Owners and a technical leader to development teams.
• Strong track record as a Solution Architect with hands-on application architecture experience
• Expert in soliciting, understanding, and driving insight into complex business requirements
• Expert in work breakdown and work sequencing, with the ability to lead teams through the process of breaking large business problems into logical smaller ones
• Able to present and communicate complex technical concepts and issues to non-technological stakeholders.
• Ability to understand, implement, and teach best practices and patterns of application development.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of traditional network architecture such as IP Addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, and firewalls
• Actively participate in the technical community, including but not limited to contributions to user groups, presenting, writing blogs, Stack Overflow, etc.
• Possess current industry-recognized certifications.
• Understanding of software development patterns and practices
