Cloud Solutions Engineer - Technology

Position Overview

ATLAS SP is seeking experienced cloud platform engineers that will drive delivery of solutions that meet all the needs of our end-users and business applications.  Vision, motivation, drive and adaptability are the key behaviors required for these roles as the infrastructure and security team build & continuously improve and extend platform capabilities core to Atlas’s path to full digital transformation. You will be given broad responsibility, ranging from establishing strategic cloud capabilities and collaborating on developing the I.T Policies that govern them, through managing the delivery of these new capabilities whether through our in-house IT Teams or via a Managed Service Provider, to providing implementation & adoption support ongoing.  You will also be integral to helping drive cloud-first thinking & upskilling across Atlas I.T teams through technical consultation & collaboration on delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

• Drive the design and development of solutions that meet agreed business requirements
• Proactively identify & remediate gaps in controls based on approach that balances security with business agility
• Lead making new cloud services available by delivering reference implementations that cover configuration, deployment & ongoing maintenance
• Review and advise on the platform-related plans and designs of our AppDev teams
• Plan & implement new capabilities in-line with increasing the overall level of automation (‘Everything-as-Code’)
• Research, prototype & implement integration of select 3rd-party capabilities that enable a ‘step-up’ of our security posture
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other technology teams on the latest cloud platform developments, plus associated methodologies, and tools
• Manage deliverables in line with CTO adoption of an agile delivery process
• Track cloud-based services that Atlas leverage (both platform & 3rd party) as Product Owner

Technical Skills

• Expertise in Azure security services, tools, and technologies such as Entra ID, Azure Policy, Defender & Sentinel
• Demonstrable understanding and experience of designing enterprise-level capabilities that are consistent with cloud security best practices and industry-standard compliance frameworks
• Understanding and experience of fault & threat isolation using the full suite of tools and capabilities that Azure provides (Monitor, Insights, Log Analytics, KQL etc.)
• Knowledge and experience of integrating 3rd-party solutions as part of a multi-cloud capable ‘security stack’
• Knowledge and experience of designing and implementing cloud network security, protections for externally-facing applications
• Knowledge and experience of the Microsoft 365 suite of applications in terms of configuring, securing and monitoring them
• Experience of ‘Infrastructure as Code’ tools and processes as relates to automating delivery of cloud infrastructure and resources
• Ability to script automation (Python, Terraform, ARM templates etc.)

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or other relevant field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience (3-5 years being public cloud related) in the design, implementation and support of infrastructure security solutions, preferably in a regulated industry
• Experience of CI/CD based cloud automation in support of an agile-based delivery model
• History of self-learning approach to staying up-to date with technology trends & developments
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to explain complex technical topics to a wide and diverse audience
• Ability to think strategically, creatively, and analytically

Base Salary Range

$135,000 - $175,000
