Cloud Support Engineer
Job Description
The Cloud Support Engineer position within Amano McGann is a highly technical position rooted in driving automation, quality, and delivering cloud services. This position will work closely with agile teams and the architecture team within the company to ensure operational success.
This is a role that requires a personable, creative, analytical, results-oriented, and organized individual.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Improve capacity planning, configuration management and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, Customer Support, and Operations.
- Scheduled on-call and off-hours worked required.
- Documenting processes, including incident and change management.
- Documenting and reporting of SLAs (w/ Senior SRE).
- Work with and be mentored by Senior SRE.
- Help implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Assist in production deployments
- Real-time support of critical service disruptions.
- Participate in Production incident investigations to determine root cause.
- Participate in security compliance efforts; experience drafting and/or reviewing IT policies.
- Participate in the creation and testing of disaster recovery and Business Continuity policies and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: (Skills, Abilities, Knowledge)
- Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- 1+ years hands-on experience with application performance monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Git.
- Understanding of micro-service architectures and the complexities surrounding deployments.
- Exposure to programming languages such as C#, Java, Python or Go.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience supporting internet-facing production services and distributed systems.
- Troubleshooting experience with containers and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of security best practices.
- Experience with continuous integration, deployment, and release management tools.
- Knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP or similar cloud platforms. Preferred experience with AWS.
- Experience using IaC tools such as Terraform
