Cloud Systems Administrator

Summary/objective

The Cloud Systems Administrator to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient systems and data communications network and cloud computing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active SANs, NAS, software, Collaboration platforms, AWS instances, Azure instances and more in order to ensure smooth system operation. Majority of time will be working with AWS implementation, management, and team mentoring.

Essential functions:

• Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade, Azure & AWS Cloud Systems, in house servers, and more
• Install and integrate new hardware and software applications
• Install and Configure Windows and Linux systems in AWS
• Support local and remote production IT needs
• Full knowledge of SSO architecture, deployment and management
• Identify processes to increase efficiencies within local IT support
• Identify Cloud system and network security improvements
• Support and administer third-party applications
• Monitor Cloud systems performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
• Configure and manage user access to AWS
• Resolve problems reported by internal and external users
• Serve as escalation point for internal team
• Specify system requirements and design cloud solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years proven experience in a system administrator role
• Minimum of 3 year managing and deploying solutions in AWS
• Minimum of 3 year experience on green field/net new implementation of AWS solutions
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
• Experience with VMware, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Ability to set up and configure server hardware and VMware
• Experience in hybrid infrastructure with solutions in Azure, AWS, and on-prem
• Extensive knowledge of Linux OS
• Extensive knowledge of Windows Server OS
• Familiarity with Cloud backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, Microsoft Server OS, Linux, VMWare, and other system solutions
• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously
• Supervising, coaching, and mentoring of others
• Facilitation and change management skills
• Highly developed verbal and written communications.
• Participate in on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's in Information Technology or related field preferred
• 5+ years of AWS Administration Experience
• 5+ years of Cloud infrastructure administration
• 5+ years of Experience in a Technical Operations environment
• 3+ year of data center experience
• 3+ years of Azure Management

Work environment

• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.

Physical demands

• Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.

Travel required

• This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently travel is within the local area but rarely overnight.
