Cloud Systems Administrator III

The Cloud Systems Administrator III role plays an essential part in supporting the day to day operations at Enviva by ensuring the stability of Enviva’s hybrid server architecture with a focus on supporting IaaS in Azure.   This role serves as Systems and Cloud administrator business projects, collaborating with business owners and third-party vendors. The Cloud Systems Administrator works with peers  on outage incidents. The Cloud Systems Administrator III will participate in projects providing insight and support to business stakeholders and IT team members. 

Responsibilities

• Serve as Microsoft Azure Administrator for Operational support and business projects, providing guidance and solutions to meet business goals.
• Execute on Azure related project tasks such as migrations, configurations and changes.
• Execute maintenance task for On Prem and Azure related services and workloads. 
• Partner with IT Management on planning exercises related to capacity, scale and performance.
• Create and update Azure documentation to ensure all systems have accurate design documentation.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and business stakeholders to provide support and project deliverables.
• Partner with third party vendors to compare and recommend IaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Make recommendations for Azure environment improvement through data gathered in monitoring tools.

Qualifications 

• A Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience supporting a Hybrid Microsoft infrastructure leveraging Azure for IaaS and PaaS.   
• Completion of Microsoft Exam 70-533 Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Required.   
• Microsoft Certified Azure Architect preferred.   
• Demonstrated mastery of Azure networking concepts including VNet’s, ExpressRoute, Application Gateway, VNet peering, DNS implementation, Network Security Groups, User Defined Routing, internal and external load balancing and Hybrid connections.   
• Hands on experience implementing and supporting an Azure Storage strategy leveraging Blob storage, File Storage, DB Storage and NoSQL databases.   
• Manage storage access using storage account keys, shared access signatures and storage access policies.   
• Create and manage compute resources in IaaS leveraging automation such as PowerShell or TerraForms.  
• Manage golden images and associated security configurations.  
• Experience implementing container-based compute environments such as Kubernetes or Docker preferred.   
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet preferred.   
• Experience with designing and Implementing Azure ARM templates and RBAC roles.  
• Proven ability to manage Azure Security and Recovery Services such as managing encryption keys and AD Federation Services.  
• Experience using snapshots and geo-replication services for data protection and recovery.  
• Demonstrated ability to configure and manage Identify Access Management for cloud and on-premise based applications and services.   
• Demonstrated Mastery of PowerShell scripting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated mastery of Azure networking concepts including VNet’s, ExpressRoute, Application Gateway, VNet peering, DNS implementation, Network Security Groups, User Defined Routing, internal and external load balancing and Hybrid connections. 

Travel requirements

• Must be able to travel up to 25% for projects and support 

Physical Requirements

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is predominately functioning in a sedentary light office position with high frequency of telephone communication, keyboarding, and computer. Position requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate technical issues / resolution.
• Must be able to get under desks frequently and lift and carry computers and monitors (up to 50 lbs) frequently.
