Expedient is hiring a Cloud Systems Engineer to join its Service Delivery team. This position will deliver tailored solutions for our clients through the Expedient project delivery lifecycle. The Cloud Systems Engineer will be a key player in delivering virtual cloud computing services, virtual machines with Windows or Linux OS, and disaster recovery as a service. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure delivery of standard technical implementations by working to deliver solutions, systems, managed services and virtual environments that are sold to clients
- Follow Expedient’s implementation guidelines, processes and procedures to ensure Service Delivery standards and quality are met
- Ensure the appropriate documentation is generated, maintained and delivered for an effective hand-off and transition to the Expedient Operations Support Center (OSC) for lifetime support of the client
- Partner with dedicated project managers, colleagues and clients to ensure expectations are set and met and the client ultimately receives superior service and solutions
Qualifications:
- 3+ years as a systems administrator or engineer (working for a Managed Service Provider is preferred)
- The ideal candidate may possess one or multiple industry technical certifications from IT-related vendors like Microsoft and VMware
- Competency with the following technologies:
- Physical-to-virtual and virtual-to-virtual migrations (p2v and v2v)
- Disaster recovery technology, not including backup solutions
- VMware vSphere v5.5 through v7 and storage arrays.
- Nutanix AHV
- Authentication methods such as Azure AD, OneLogin, Okta, DUO
- Windows operating systems and Active Directory
- Basic UNIX commands (primary focus on Red Hat and CentOS)
- Remote Desktop Services, Citrix, or VDI
- Basic networking principles, firewall rules, IP addressing and VLANs
- Experience with vCloud Director and NSX is a plus
- Ability to prioritize and be productive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to identify and resolve challenging situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding service and response time working with clients
- Passion for learning technologies and curious for new ideas
- Flexibility to be available for scheduled night and weekend implementation projects when required
