General Summary of Position:

Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps and Cloud Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role that requires expertise in a variety of disciplines including DevOps, Systems Administration, Cloud Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, and Automation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize our cloud platforms (AWS and GCP) and on-premise compute (VxRail/VMware).
  • Perform advanced Linux systems engineering tasks to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Develop and implement automation strategies to streamline our operations.
  • Test software applications and work closely with the development team to troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address any issues.
  • Maintain documentation of systems configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on DevOps, Systems Administration, and Cloud Systems Administration.
  • Proven experience managing AWS and GCP environments.
  • Experience with on-premise compute, specifically VxRail/VMware.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux systems engineering.
  • Experience with automation tools and techniques.
  • Experience testing software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Python, and Python web applications, such as Flask
  • Experience with next.js and react.js web applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on DevOps, Systems Administration, and Cloud Systems Administration.
  • Proven experience managing AWS and GCP environments.
  • Experience with on-premise compute, specifically VxRail/VMware.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux systems engineering.
  • Experience with automation tools and techniques.
  • Experience testing software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with embedded linux is a plus
