Cloud Technical Project ManagerÂ
Simple Technology Solutions (STS) is looking for a Cloud Technical Project Manager to add to our team.
This role will provide direct oversight and management of a complex application modernization project involving multiple subcontractors and vendors, and engagement with executive stakeholders. Required skills include Agile Project Management, IT service delivery management, and IT tactical and strategic planning.

The role:
Simple Technology Solutionsâ Cloud Technical Project Manager embraces being a leader and will guide teams in delivering on client contracts and translate needs into powerful solutions. They are a problem-solver with demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining customer required methodologies, procedures, metrics, and systems to produce reports to measure program success. The Cloud Technical Project Manager is collaborative, forward thinking, and has exceptional communication skills to facilitate teamâs success. While the Project Manager will be primarily responsible for managing project delivery of cloud migration work (Azure and AWS) with 30+ customer tenants, they will also be responsible for creating and tracking all Cloud Engineering and Operations work in Jira, managing contract deliverables (weekly and monthly reports), presenting and conducting customer meetings, as well as other related duties as assigned.
The Cloud Technical Project Manager at STS will:Â
- Communicate with diverse customer stakeholder groups, including executive management, and require consensus building
- Have overall responsibility for all financial, technical, administrative, contractual, and personnel aspects of the Cloud Engineering Tenant Support contract and will interface with Customer executives
- Be prepared to provide sound advice as to prioritizing projects or tasks and when to delay
- Change and Configuration Management best practices
- Enforce quality standards for engineered solutions
- Issue escalation to internal and external stakeholders where appropriate
- Deliver using an Agile approach with an emphasis on automation, MVPs, and end user/business user engagement
- Lead an engineering team across three functional areas on a program providing cloud platform services for customer tenants. Provide program management support, manage multiple ongoing platform enhancement projects, tenant migration projects, as well as managing engineering operations support customer tenant systems.
- Lead engineering team agile ceremonies â facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint review, backlog grooming, and collaborate on road map development with architects and government stakeholders
- Manage onboarding for tenants to Cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) â collaborate with tenants to schedule, coordinate resources, manage risk, and provide status on migration projects
- Manage engineering operations and maintenance efforts for Cloud tenants â collaborate with cross-functional teams for change implementations to ensure compliance with organizational and change management policies.
- Oversee tasking, resource assignment, and ensure timely resolution of support requests
- Platform strategy â collaborate with senior stakeholders and technical resources to identify business needs and platform improvement opportunities.
- Align and prioritize platform initiatives with organizational strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to influence process improvement to increase efficiency and operational throughput.
- Identify and assist in developing solutions for process gaps and new business needs
- Develop, analyze, and validate business metrics â resource utilization, performance and compliance, status, and risk analysis data
- Manage ongoing external and internal relationships and generate new strategic opportunities and scope expansion on the assigned contract(s)
- Present project status reports and facilitate product demos for our team and clients
- Assist in the design and execution of usability tests, analysis of results, and creation of finding and recommendations documentation including user stories, presentations, and reports
- Manage complex spend plans and ensure program aspects are operating within established budgets
- Successful implementation and turn-up of customer network solutions
- Direct interface to the customer and STS senior leadership on service-related issues
- Manage required escalations to address customer service delivery issues
- Establish and maintain a firm understanding of the Clientâs IT infrastructure
- Assist with Vendor and Asset Management
Experience, Education, and Certifications:
Required
- Bachelorâs degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration Science, Mathematics, or Engineering or a related field
- 3 Years of IT Experience in managing, building, operating, and improving Cloud Computing environments in Azure or AWS
- Experience leading and collaborating with technical teams of diverse IT related skill sets
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Azure and AWS Cloud environments and deploying in Government environments
- Extensive knowledge of managing work in Jira (or similar work tracking systems) and ability to prepare useful reports to foster data-driven decision making
- Exemplary communication, analytical skills, and technical knowledge across the client environment that facilitates resolving technical issues in customer cloud migrations
- Facilitating meetings, workshops, and discussions with team members and clients to align user wants, client needs, technical level of effort, and timelines
- Budgeting and forecasting of renewals and strategic initiatives
- Providing continuous improvement of Client service delivery processes, documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Demonstrated experience managing cloud projects in agile environment
- Knowledge of cloud services, methodologies, best practices, and tools
- Technical PM background in ITIL, Agile, DevOps, Hybrid cloud infrastructure, collaboration tools
