Job Description:

Description: The Certified Medical Assistant PRN performs a variety of clinical and technical functions including patient care. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist clinic leadership in all aspects of patient flow while maintaining a high quality of patient care in a compassionate manner.

Typical Duties:

1. Performs complete data collection of patient and other various duties and direct care with regard to age and developmental stage, presenting complaint, and pertinent history.
2. Completes documentation, and meets current standards along with policies and procedures including documentation of all mandatory forms within the scope of the position.
3. Participates in quality improvement activities.
4. Assists with scheduling appointments.
5. Assists in preparing and maintaining clinic readiness including but not limited to maintaining neat, orderly, and supplied exam rooms and sets up for procedures as indicated.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Current certification from a national registry as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
Preferred Education and Experience:
• 1 year of experience practice setting or a hospital-based clinic setting.
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Certification in Non-Aggressive Crisis Management; must be obtained while in department orientation and maintained throughout employment when working within the Behavioral Health setting.
